
USSSA ADVANTAGES & REASONS TO PARTICIPATE
United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) is the largest multi-sport association in the nation with over 4.4 million participants and the fastest growing youth basketball association in the country. The United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) is a national organization with a purpose to organize and promote youth basketball and to perpetuate the interest and love of the game. USSSA provides an opportunity for teams to compete in tournament competition that leads to area, state and national championships in their respective competitive classes in all grades.
NATIONAL PROGRAM BACKING
Basketball teams participating in events from 47 states. USSSA nationally is the largest multi-sport sanctioning organization with over 4.4 million members. NATIONAL AND STATE POINT CHAMPIONS
The USSSA Team Ranking System has become the goal of thousands of players, coaches, and parents. It provides rankings on a state and national basis and is based entirely on the participation supported by documentation in USSSA sanctioned events. This ranking system is web based and is open to all registered USSSA teams. Each team can develop its own webpage on the USSSA national website. Be part of the National and State Points Race in 2014. The National Points Champion will receive an individual and team awards package. The State Points Champion in will be named for all grades and an overall point champion (girls and boys) will receive an awards package from the state at the conclusion of the season.
USSSA TEAM SPONSORSHIPS
Team sponsorships for teams that place 1st, 2nd or 3rd place at the state championships and qualify for the national tournament. Sponsorships range from $500 to $3000 per team or a combination of monetary funds to apparel or uniforms. Final package and/or amount is based on the balance in the travel fund each year and also how many teams opt to attend the USSSA National tournament. Teams only qualify for sponsorships that attend the USSSA National Tournament.
FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES
Fundraising opportunities for USSSA member teams are available. USSSA Member teams/clubs have the ability to operate tournaments, leagues, camps, junior hoops leagues and 3 v 3 events. The state office can help you align with the appropriate event structure in your area. Event directors keep all event revenue for their programs. Support to develop programming in your area of the state. Discounts on event equipment and apparel. As a tournament operator your tourney is no longer a stand-alone event. It will be associated with a nationally recognized organization that will share tournament information and resources through a national network.
MULTIPLE LEVELS OF COMPETITION
USSSA Basketball was the first to develop multiple divisions of play to create parity. With league, qualifying, and championship events for Division I, II, and III level teams, there is a place for every team to play USSSA Basketball. USSSA Basketball has three distinct levels of Competition:

Division I – Elite Teams In the 2010 NBA draft, 22 of the 30 first round draft picks participated in USSSA events. More than eighty percent of the ESPN top 100 participated in USSSA events.

Division II – Competitive Teams. Gives thousands of teams the opportunity to learn how to play the game and enjoy the experience of travel basketball.

Division III – School Based Used by thousands of high school, middle school and grade school players to develop their skills. Division Recreational - Recreational Teams Look for this in the future. State and regional championship events for recreational based teams.
POST-SEASON OPPORTUNITIES
State Championships: USSSA offers State Championship events for Division I (Elite) Division II (Competitive) and Division III (School-Based) teams. In the future USSSA Basketball will offer a Recreational State Championship as well. The USSSA National Championships are held in June 2014 in Gainsville, Florida. This is an excellent opportunity for your team to travel for a great event and see competition from across the country. NCAA Certified Events: USSSA Sanctions more than 25 NCAA Certified events per year. Season long qualifying opportunities. Area, state and national tournaments are held for all divisions and grades.
MINIMAL TEAM COSTS
Fees to participate are minimal compared to all other basketball associations. Team registration is only $25 each year. See USSSA Membership page for details and benefits. There is no requirement to purchase team insurance to participate in a USSSA sanctioned event unlike other basketball associations. If you chose to purchase team insurance (secondary medical) it is $89 annually for the entire team. Coverage is from August 1st through July 31st. This adds liability and medical protection for players, coaches, managers and volunteers.
TOURNAMENT / EVENT INSURANCE
Play with peace of mind knowing you will be covered by one of the best sports liability programs available. Coverage is available for games, practices, team meetings, award banquets and fundraisers. Each event that is sanctioned (with all teams registered) is provided a liability policy in the value of $2,000,000. Further insurance, including medical insurance for each team is also available.
TEAM INSURANCE
The USSSA general liability policies provide $2,000,000 per occurrence of valuable general liability protection. Coverage is provided for bodily injury, property damage, and personal injury claims for which you are legally obligated. Accidental medical expense benefit of $100,000 with a $100.00 deductible. The plan pays for covered medical expenses incurred within one year after an accident to a maximum of $100,000 per accident for each insured person. Treatment must begin within 30 days of an accident. Coverage is provided on a secondary basis. If other collectible insurance is in force, it must be used as primary. SHARING OF RESOURCES AND INFORMATION
USSSA gives your organization access to its extensive nationwide mailing list of registered teams and email addresses. Event directors receive blast marketing E-mails in their state. Your involvement with USSSA gives your area players and teams a chance to advance to other USSSA partnered events and other teams can advance to your event through sharing of tournament information on the USSSA national and state websites.
